Abstract:
A lateral surface member structure (100) of a vehicle body (1) is provided with: a cylindrical body (110) extending in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body (1); and a shock absorbing member (120) disposed inside the cylindrical body (110). The shock absorbing member (120) has a web (121) flat in the vehicle width direction and extending in the longitudinal direction, a vehicle outer flange (122) joined to the vehicle outer end of the web (121) and extending in the longitudinal direction, and a vehicle inner flange (123) joined to the vehicle inner end of the web (121) and extending in the longitudinal direction. The vehicle outer flange (122) and the vehicle inner flange (123) have ribs (122R, 123R) that are arranged so as to hold the web (121) therebetween from above and below and that extend in the longitudinal direction.
