Disclosed are a laundry treatment device control method and a laundry treatment device. The laundry treatment device comprises a laundry treatment drum and an optical plasma generation module having a gas chamber. A fan is provided in the gas chamber, and a gas outlet of the gas chamber is in communication with the laundry treatment drum via a gas outlet line. The control method comprises: entering a washing and care program; and controlling the fan to rotate, so as to drive gas in the gas chamber to be blown into the laundry treatment drum via the gas outlet line. In the present invention, the fan rotates to control the gas in the gas chamber to flow towards the gas outlet of the gas chamber, so that washing and care water or steam in the laundry treatment drum is prevented from entering the optical plasma generation module and causing damage. There is no need to install valve assemblies on the gas outlet of the gas chamber and the gas outlet line. It is simple to operate and control, and easy to implement.
