Abstract:
A lead storage cell comprises positive electrode plates that comprise a positive electrode grid and a positive electrode active substance, negative electrode plates that comprise a negative electrode grid and a negative electrode active substance, and an electrode plate group of positive electrode plates and negative electrode plates stacked with separators interposed between. The cell further comprises a positive-polarity strap in which current collection tabs of the positive electrode plates are brought together for each single electrode plate group to form an integrated unit, a negative-polarity strap in which current collection tabs of the negative electrode plates are brought together for each single electrode plate group to form an integrated unit, a battery case having a plurality of cell chambers for accommodating the electrode plate groups and an electrolyte solution, and a cover for sealing the opening of the battery case. Interfacial layers containing bismuth are provided at the interfaces of the negative-electrode-plate current collection tabs and the negative-polarity strap, and the negative electrode grids comprise a lead-calcium-tin alloy having a tin content of 0.45% by mass or less.
