Claims: 1. The leg pull machine, using the existing load (4) transfer technique over the cables (6) to the trainee, allows specific strengthening of the hip flexors, characterized in that when the chestrest (1) is placed, load (4) is lifted due to pulling of both cables (6) and in that setup grip 1 (8) is used to hold on to. 2. The leg pulling machine in accordance with claim 1 , characterized in that when the chestrest (1) is removed, load (4) is lifted due to pulling of one cable, and in that setup grip 2 (9) is used to hold on to. |
The present invention relates to a device that would be used in the training of recreational athletes and athletes, and its main purpose is to pull with the legs.
Hip flexors are an important muscle groups in many sports from gymnastics and swimming to various sports where athletes are achieving maximum speed because it has been scientifically proven that the strength of the hip flexor muscles is related to sprint speed. Nevertheless, no fitness center has adequate equipment to strengthen these muscles.
The strengthening of the hip flexors is carried out by inadequate methods, such as pulling the elastic band with the leg. In that case the maximum force cannot be manifested throughout the entire movement. Furthermore, there are devices on which, in addition to other movements, hip flexion can be performed, but the contact point of the body with machine is above the knee and can only be done with one leg. There is no device on which pulling is performed with the whole leg (from the ankle) and there is no device on which is possible to pull with both legs at the same time.
The primary object of the invention is to provide an adequate load to strengthen the hip flexors.
A secondary object of the invention is a novelty in hip flexor training. In accordance with the present invention, the leg pull machine comprises a metal structure to which pulleys and cables are added which are connected at one end to weights and connected at the other end to an insole in which the fool is placed. Al the bottom of the construction, near the insoles, there is a stand for the trainee. There are also 2 grips on each side of the construction, and in the middle there is a removable chestrest that fits into 3 cogs and can be moved along them and thus adjusted to the height of the trainee.
In the drawings:
Referring to Figures 1 and 2, it can be seen that the foot-pulling device comprises a metal structure to which are added:
1 - chestrest - it is used when pulling with both legs and is removed when pulling with one leg.
2 - stand for the trainee - a board on which the trainee stands with one leg while performing a one-legged pull.
3 - insoles - they are located al the end of the cables (6) and act as a link between the trainee and the weights (4). The look will be anatomically adjusted and that will allow pulling of heavy weights.
4 ~ weights - regulated load.
5 •••• wheel - serve to guide the cables (6) from the weights (4) to the trainee.
6 - cablcs-lransferring the load (4) to the insoles (3).
7 - weight guide - allows uniform weight movement without oscillations.
8 - grips 1 - the trainee is holding them when pulling with both legs leaning on lhe chestrest (1). Ils slope follows the distance of the exerciser - when the chest rest (1) is low, the grip is closer to him, and when it is high, the grip is further.
9 grips 2- the trainee is holding them when performing a one-legged pull when the chestrest (1) is removed.
10 - sheet - covers lhe back of the machine
11 - cogs for regulating the height of the chestrest - on each side there are 3 teeths into which the chestrest (1) fils and the height of lhe chestrest can be adjusted to suit trainees of different heights. Application of the machine when pulling with both legs:
The trainee adjusts the appropriate load of the weights (4) and adjusts the chestrest (1) according to his height, puts his legs into the insoles (3) and comes to the stand (2). He leans on the chestrest (1 ) and grabs the grips 1 (8) with his hands. Putting the body in that position, he is ready to perform. In the leg pull movement trainee uses the hipflexors and abdominal muscles to lift the weights (4).
Application of the machine when pulling with one leg:
The trainee removes the chestrest (1 ), adjusts the appropriate load of the weights (4), puts one leg into the insole (3), and the other stands on the stand (2). He grabs the grips 2 (9) with his hands and, taking that position he is ready to perform. In the one-legged pull movement, the hip flexor muscles will be activated more significantly than when pulling with both legs.
