Abstract:
A lens barrel in which a bending optical system using a reflection member can be thinned and which has a lens barrier opening/closing mechanism with excellent operability, and a thinner camera. A lens barrel has an opening in which object light enters, a lens barrier, lens groups, a reflection member for bending the object light at substantially right angle, and an imaging element for photoelectrically converting the object light and is constructed to perform magnification variation by moving a predetermined lens group of the lens groups in the direction of the optical axis. At least one of the lens groups is constructed so as to move as a screw-fitting member, screwed to a lead screw, moves. The screw-fitting member is movable to a position beyond a movable range of the lens group. The lens barrier is opened and closed when the screw-fitting member moves at a position beyond the movable range of the lens groups.
