Abstract:
A lens hood (1) for a camera, which hood comprises an annular mounting washer (3) having substantially the same inner and outer diameters as those of the front end (14) of a lens barrel, a hood body (2) formed of an elastic member and mounted on the outside of the washer (3), a generally C-shaped mounting spring (4) in pressured contact with the inside of the washer (3), and push-buttons (42a, 42b) for urging the spring (4) to vary the diameter of the spring (4). When the push-buttons are depressed, the spring (4) is attached to the front end of the lens barrel to thus retain the lens barrel by the elastic force of the spring (4) Thus the lens hood can be readily attached and detached The spring (4) absorbs any impact applied to the hood.
