Abstract:
A lever comprises a housing; a lever member mounted in the housing through a mounting mechanism with its one end projecting from the housing, and selectively operated manually in a first direction of the operation so as to generate a first instruction signal, and in a second direction of operation which crosses the first direction so as to generate a second instruction signal; an instruction signal generator which detects the amounts of operations in the first and second directions, and generates the first and second instruction signals according to the directions and amounts of the operation; a first operational amount transmission mechanism which so supports the lever member as to swing in the second direction, and transmits the operational amount of the lever member to the instruction signal generating means when the lever member is operated in the first direction; and a second operational amount transmission mechanism which so supports the lever member as to swing in the first direction, and transmits the operation amount of the lever member to the instruction signal generating means when the lever member is operated in the second direction.
