Abstract:
A hydrogen transfer reaction can be more efficiently promoted by using a metal complex that is represented by general formula (2). Specifically, a hydrogenation reaction can be caused to proceed with respect to various base materials which have a stable carbonyl group or the like under mild conditions with high yield. (In the formula, R1-R8 may be the same as or different from each other, and each represents a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group or the like, or alternatively, R1 and R2, R2 and R3, R3 and R4, R4 and R5, and R5 and R6 may respectively combine together to form a divalent hydrocarbon group; R9 moieties may be the same as or different from each other, and each represents an alkyl group or a cycloalkyl group; M represents a ruthenium (Ru) atom or the like; X represents a ligand; and n represents 0, 1 or 2.)
