Abstract:
Provided are a light conversion member and a method for manufacturing the same such that the light conversion member maintains favorable dispersion for phosphor particles therein and is able to retain light conversion efficiency in a manner that does not reduce transmittance of light from a light source. The light conversion member is made of glass that contains dispersed phosphor particles, and a heat resistance filler is also contained and dispersed in the glass, said heat resistance filler being such that the relational expression [D50/n] between the 50% particle diameter (D50) thereof and the refractive index (n) for a 633 nm wavelength is between 2 - 20. In the light conversion member manufacturing method, raw material mixed powder is mixed with a vehicle to produce a slurry, and the slurry is molded and then calcined.
