Abstract:
The present invention provides a light detection device that obtains a distance from a round-trip time of light, and reduces a distance measuring error while shortening dead time in a distance measuring system. A logic gate outputs an output signal on the basis of the result of a comparison of a prescribed threshold voltage and an input voltage corresponding to a voltage of a terminal of one of a cathode and an anode of an avalanche photodiode. A voltage limiting transistor limits the input voltage. In a fast-charging transistor, the thickness of a gate oxide film is less than that of the voltage limiting transistor, the fast-charging transistor supplying a charging voltage to the avalanche photodiode according to a prescribed pulse signal. A pulse generator generates a pulse signal on the basis of the output signal and supplies the pulse signal to the fast-charging transistor.
