The present invention provides a light diffusion film which comprises a base material film and a light-diffusing layer laminated on the base material film, wherein the light-diffusing layer is a layer composed of a dried product of a resin composition comprising light-transmissive microparticles and a solvent or a cured product of the dried product, and wherein the sedimentation degree (S) of the resin composition is 30 or less, wherein the sedimentation degree (S) is expressed by formula (A): S = 100 - (100×M/30) [wherein M represents the scale mark (ml) corresponding to the interface between a transparent supernatant layer and a suspension layer of the resin composition as observed after placing 30 ml of the resin composition in a 100-ml measuring cylinder and leaving the measuring cylinder stand for six hours. The present invention also provides a process for producing the light diffusion film, and a light-diffusing polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display device in each of which the light diffusion film is used. According to the present invention, it becomes possible to provide a light diffusion film having good optical properties including a high front contrast and a wide view angle, in a steady manner.
