Abstract:
A light distribution control device for the headlights of a vehicle comprises: headlight bodies (2L, 2R); light distribution operation switches (8, 9) including a passing switch; a forward detection unit (11) for detecting an object ahead of the vehicle; a manual mode control unit (13) for controlling the distribution of the light of the headlight bodies on the basis of signals outputted from the light distribution operation switches; an auto mode control unit (14) for controlling the distribution of the light of the headlight bodies on the basis of a signal outputted from the forward detection unit; an auto mode changeover switch (7) for switching, by operation by the driver, the control of the distribution of the light of the headlight bodies to control performed by the auto mode control unit; a passing duration determination unit (15) for determining whether or not the time of duration of the ON operation of the passing switch is longer or equal to a threshold duration time; and an auto mode return unit (16) for returning the control of the distribution of the light to control performed by the auto mode control unit.
