Abstract:
A light emitting device (1) comprises: a light emitting element (3) that has a light emitting surface (3A); a first light control unit (41) that is formed on the light emitting surface (3A) and that controls at least one of the wavelength of light, scattering of light, and the direction of light; a cover (5) that is formed on the side, opposite to the light emitting surface (3A), of the first light control unit (41) and that covers and protects the first light control unit (41); and a first light blocking unit (6) that is formed on a lateral surface of the cover (5) and that blocks light.
