Abstract:
A light-emitting device (1) comprises: a sidewall (15) having a first upper surface (11); a base (10) having a second upper surface, the perimeter thereof being surrounded by the sidewall (15); a light-emitting element disposed on the second upper surface; a joining member (30) disposed on the first upper surface (11); and a translucent member (40) that is joined to a portion of the first upper surface (11) via the joining member (30), and that has a lower surface (43) that includes a first region (41) disposed above the first upper surface (11) and a second region (42) disposed above the second upper surface. There is a gap which, between the lower surface (43) of the translucent member (40) and the first upper surface (11) of the sidewall (15), passes from a space (61) where the light-emitting element is disposed to the outside of the light-emitting device (1), and which is provided via the lower surface (43) of the translucent member (40), the first upper surface (11) of the sidewall (15), and the joining member (30).
The joining member (30) is joined to the first region (41) and second region (42) of the lower surface (43) of the translucent member (40).
