Abstract:
A light emitting device (1) includes: a housing (10) that forms an interior space (NS) in which a light emitting unit (5) is housed; a cover (3) that covers the top of an upper wall section (21) of the housing (10); and a waterproof and moisture-permeable member (4). A communication hole (21b) that is in communication with the interior space (NS) is formed in the upper wall section (21). A humidity adjustment space (CS) that adjusts the humidity of the interior space (NS) is formed between the cover (3) and the upper wall section (21). The waterproof and moisture-permable member (4) is positioned in the humidity adjustment space (CS) and covers the communication hole (21b). The cover (3) includes a peripheral edge section (3a) that is of a size that encompasses the upper wall section (21) of the housing (10) in planar view. A lower end (3b) of the peripheral edge section (3a) is positioned below an upper surface (21a) of the upper wall section (21). A ventilation hole (30) that opens downward such that the humidity adjustment space (CS) is in communication with the exterior is formed between the peripheral edge section (3a) of the cover (3) and the housing (10).
