Abstract:
A light-emitting-element accommodating member (A1) has in the interior thereof a deep-bottom space section (7) that is formed of ceramic and that has an opening (5) at at least one portion thereof, and the inner wall of the space section (7) has a base (1) serving as a mount section (11) for a light-emitting element (9). The light-emitting-element accommodating member (A1) has a mount section (26) for mounting the light-emitting element (9) and has a base (21) provided with: a bottom base material (22) having a rectangular shape in plan view; and a wall member (23) that is provided on the bottom base material (22) so as to surround the mount section (26) in a U shape and so as to have an opening (27) at at least one portion. The base (21) is integrally formed of ceramic.
