Abstract:
Provided is a light-emitting element that includes quantum dots in a light-emitting layer, wherein the electron and positive hole injection efficiency and the light-emission efficiency have been improved. The light emitting element comprises, on a substrate: a positive electrode; a negative electrode; a quantum dot layer which is provided between the positive electrode and the negative electrode and in which a plurality of first quantum dots that emit light and a plurality of second quantum dots that do not emit light have been layered; a positive hole transport layer that is provided between the positive electrode and the quantum dot layer; and an electron transport layer that is provided between the negative electrode and the quantum dot layer. The plurality of second quantum dots are provided such that there are more second quantum dots on the electron transport layer side than on the positive hole transport layer side.
