Abstract:
Provided is a plane-emission light guide plate that has a luminance peak in a direction inclined by 40 degrees or more in relation to the normal of the exit surface, and that is capable of causing light to exit in an efficient manner. Also provided are a highly efficient and bright illumination device and illumination stand in which this light guide plate is used. An inclined surface, which is inclined so as to shift progressively farther toward the light source as one proceeds from the reflection-surface side to the exit-surface side, is provided to the exit surface. It is therefore possible to reduce Fresnel reflection when light that is incident on the reflection surface at an angle including the total reflection angle, that is reflected from the surface, and that is travelling toward the exit-surface side is incident on the inclined surface, which is inclined facing the light, and to obtain luminant light that is refracted at the inclined surface and has a luminance peak in an angular range inclined at an angle of 40 degrees or more from a normal direction to the exit surface in the direction away from the light source.
