Abstract:
The present invention achieves a safe and lightweight plastic light guide plate. A light guide plate that comprises a substrate, an incidence diffraction grating that diffracts incident light, and an emission diffraction grating that emits light that has been diffracted by the incidence diffraction grating from the substrate. The emission diffraction grating is a relief pattern that is formed on the surface of the substrate. The relief pattern is formed from a first parallel straight line group and a second parallel straight line group that crosses the first parallel straight line group. The pitch of the first parallel straight line group is the same as the pitch of the second parallel straight line group. The light guide plate is characterized in that the pitch P of the first parallel straight line group and the second parallel straight line group and the width W of the relief pattern are related such that W/P is 0.15–0.85.
