Provided is a light projection lens capable of setting a light projection range approximate to a rectangular shape and ensuring light intensity within the light projection range. A light projection lens (11) is provided with an incident surface (12) and an exit surface (13), wherein: the incident surface (12) on an XZ cross-section is curved concavely with respect to the side to a light source (2), and the absolute value of a curvature decreases toward a portion away from the Z axis; the exit surface (13) on an YZ cross-section is curved concavely with respect to the light projection side; on the XZ cross-section, the absolute value of the curvature of the incident surface (12) at an intersection between the Z axis and the incident surface (12) is larger than the absolute value of the curvature of the exit surface (13) at an intersection between the Z axis and the exit surface (13); and on the YZ cross-section, the absolute value of the curvature of the incident surface (12) at an intersection between the Z axis and the incident surface (12) is smaller than the absolute value of the curvature of the exit surface (13) at an intersection between the Z axis and the exit surface (13).
