Abstract:
A light receiving device comprising a light receiving portion formed on a semiconductor substrate, and a light transmitting portion formed of an organic material and arranged in an optical path leading to the light receiving portion wherein the light transmitting portion contains deuterium. When the imaging lens or prism of a camera or the microlens, planarization film or color filter of an imaging element is formed of an organic resin, the organic resin is deuterated. By deuterating the protective film or interlayer insulation film, which is composed of a silicon oxide film, silicon nitride film or silicon oxynitride film, in the imaging element, characteristic vibration of each bonding between hydrogen and C, O, Si or N causing deterioration in sensitivity can be shifted to the long wavelength side. Consequently, there can be obtained a light receiving device exhibiting high sensitivity in visible region and near infrared region. Also disclosed are a method for fabricating such a light receiving device, and a camera.
