Abstract:
Provided are: a light-scattering film (3) that internally converts the light received on a light-receiving surface (3a) into scattered light and then emits the scattered light from a light-emitting surface (3b) to the outside; and a liquid crystal display device (10) equipped with the light-scattering film (3). The light-scattering film (3) is provided with a translucent composition as a functional layer (30), the translucent composition including an organic polymeric compound (32) and light-scattering particles (31). The functional layer has a first surface (light-receiving surface) for receiving light and a second surface (light-emitting surface) from which scattered light is emitted; the average particle size of the light-scattering particles is 1.5 μm or greater; and at least 60 volume% of the light-scattering particles (31) in the functional layer (30) are spread out over a first surface and form a concentrated particle layer along a direction perpendicular to the first surface.
