Abstract:
This invention relates to a light source control method capable of lowering the repetition frequency dependence of the pulse width (FWHM) of outputted pulsed light. The pulsed light source has a MOPA structure and is provided with a seed light source and an optic fiber amplifier. The seed light source contains a directly modulated semiconductor laser which outputs pulsed light. By adjusting the temperature of the seed light source and the excitation optical power of the optic fiber amplifier, the pulsed light outputted from said optic fiber amplifier can realize a pulse with a prescribed full width at half maximum at a prescribed repetition frequency.
