Abstract:
Provided are a light source device and a display device capable of suppressing a temperature rise in the vicinity of the light source. A backlight 2 (light source device) comprises: a light source 232 generating heat concomitantly to light-emission; a light guide body 21 having a light entry surface 21c wherefrom the light emitted by the light source 232 enters, and a light exit surface 21a different from the light entry surface 21c and wherefrom the light is released; and a heat-dissipation member 24 for releasing to the exterior the heat generated by the light source 232. The backlight 2 (light source device) is characterized in that: the light guide body 21 has a facing surface 21b that is different from the light entry surface 21c and faces the light exit surface 21a; and the heat-dissipation member 24 has a support portion 241 supporting the light source 232 in a state where the light source 232 is oriented towards the light entry surface 21c, and a heat-dissipation portion 242 disposed in such a manner as to face the light guide body 21 on the facing surface 21b side thereof, having on at least one among a side proximal to the light guide body 21 and another side distal to the light guide body 21, and having a profile raising and recessing in the direction in which the light exit surface 21a faces the facing surface 21b.
