Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to suppress temperature increase in a light source device provided with a light emitting unit in which a plurality of light emitting elements based on vertical cavity surface emitting laser are arrayed. A light source device according to the present technology is provided with: a light emitting unit in which a plurality of light emitting elements based on vertical cavity surface emitting laser are arrayed; and a drive unit which, with respect to the light emitting elements in the light emitting unit, causes a plurality of light emitting elements that should emit light within a light-emitting target period to emit light on a time-divided basis within the light-emitting target period. The time-division light emission enables a decrease in the number of light emitting elements for simultaneous light emission.
