Abstract:
[Problem] To suppress a change in color tone when the brightness of light from a light source has been changed. [Solution] This light source device 100A has: a first light source 1B that emits first polarized light; a second light source 2B that emits second polarized light; an optical element 6 that passes one polarized light and reflects the other polarized light; a polarized light rotating means 9 that rotates the polarization direction of the first polarized light from the optical element to generate polarized and rotated light; and a wavelength converting means 11 that converts the second polarized light from the optical element into a wavelength converted light. The optical element synthesizes the wavelength converted light and the polarized rotated light to generate emitted light. A control means 20 controls the light emitting amount of at least one among the first and second light sources according to the change of the light emitting amount of at least one among the first and the second light sources so that a change amount of the light emitting amount of the first light source and a change amount of the light emitting amount of the second light source are different, or that the ratio of the light emitting amount of the first light source and the light emitting amount of the second light source vary.
