Abstract:
The present invention allows the projection of a desired projection pattern on a surface to be illuminated, such as a road surface, a ground surface, a floor surface, an underwater surface, or a wall surface, and allows the change in the projection position and projection direction of the projection pattern. The laser beam from a light-emitting unit (111) is shaped into a parallel beam by a shaping optical system (112) and irradiated upon the incident surface (P2) of a diffractive optical element (120) with a hologram image stored therein. A projection pattern (E) which comprises an arrow pointing toward a predetermined direction (D) is projected as a hologram reproduced image on the surface (U) to be illuminated on the road surface. An optical element drive unit (130) causes the diffractive optical element (120) to turn about the turning axis (Rx) on the turning plane (P1) perpendicular to the optical axis (C) of the parallel incident beam (L). By the aforementioned turning, the relative geometric position of the diffractive optical element (120) with respect to the surface (U) to be illuminated is changed, thereby allowing a change in the orientation (D) of the projection pattern (E) comprising the arrow on the road surface.
