Abstract:
This lighting device comprises: a light-emitting module; and an optical element in which a first liquid crystal cell and a second liquid crystal cell are stacked, and that transmits light from the light-emitting module. The first liquid crystal cell and the second liquid crystal cell each include a first substrate in which first and second transparent electrodes are arranged alternately in a first direction, and a second substrate in which third and fourth transparent electrodes are arranged alternately in a second direction that intersects with the first direction. The light-emitting module includes: a light source; a light guide plate having an end surface through which light from the light source enters and a first surface that emits the light entered; and a prism sheet opposed to the first surface. The second substrate of the first liquid crystal cell is adjacent to the first substrate of the second liquid crystal cell. The first surface includes a plurality of first grooves extending in a third direction that intersects with the first direction and the second direction.
