This lighting device comprises a casing, a light source that emits excitation light, an optical system that is located in an internal space within the casing, a first member, and a second member. The casing has a first opening that opens to the exterior and a first portion that is provided with a second opening that opens to the exterior. The first member has a conversion unit that emits fluorescence in response to irradiation with the excitation light, and a base part to which the conversion unit is fixed. The second member is fixed to the casing from the first-opening side, the second member having a third opening through which the fluorescence passes. The optical system includes a filter that guides the excitation light from the light source to the conversion unit and guides the fluorescence from the conversion unit to the first opening, and a lens optical system that includes one or more lenses positioned on the optical axis of the fluorescence from a wavelength conversion unit to the first opening. The base part covers the second opening from the exterior side, the base part being fixed to the casing in a state that allows the base part to be retrieved to the exterior. The optical system is sandwiched between the second member and the inner surface of the casing.
