Abstract:
A lightweight and low-power object recognition device and an operation method thereof are provided. An object recognition device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a determiner for analyzing an input image and determining the need for object recognition; and an NPU for recognizing an object in the input image by selectively using a high-accuracy neural network and a low-accuracy neural network according to a result of the determination of the determiner. Accordingly, a lightweight and low-power object recognition device is implemented by using an NPU for recognizing an object by selectively operating a CNN and a BNN according to the need for object recognition, so that it is possible to monitor/report a situation through target object recognition in a remote area which is an extreme environment for power supply.
