Abstract:
Provided are a linear motor capable of suppressing thrust ripples and a method for manufacturing the linear motor. The linear motor comprises: a plurality of magnetic members made of a magnetic material, arrayed apart from each other at a prescribed interval in one direction, and are to be arranged oppositely to magnets; and coils that are wound on the magnetic members, that are supplied with electric power to generate thrust with respect to the magnets, and that have a greater wire diameter at portions wound on the magnetic members at ends in one direction than at portions wound on the magnetic members at the center in said one direction.
