Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a linear motor capable of improving a thrust force using thrust pulsation; and a suspension device using same. This linear motor comprises: an armature 10; a plurality of windings 13 wound around a plurality of slots 15 formed between teeth 12 of the armature 10; and a magnet part 20 having a plurality of magnets 21 which are disposed facing the teeth 12 and move relative to the armature 10. The armature 10 is formed so that a thrust pulsation is generated at an end section by a non-winding space in which the windings 13 are not disposed. The range of the stroke of the magnet part 20 is set so as to overlap a range in which a thrust force increases by means of the thrust pulsation. Due to this configuration, it is possible to obtain a linear motor with a thrust force increased by using thrust pulsation.
