Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a linear motor for which a decrease in thrust force and a decrease in space utilization efficiency is suppressed. In this linear motor 1, an armature 8, which comprises teeth 2 and coils 5, and permanent magnets 10, which are disposed on the outer periphery side of the armature 8, move relative to each other in the axial direction. The teeth 2 have a polygonal shape when viewed from the axial direction. The permanent magnets 10 are formed in a flat-plate shape, and multiple permanent magnets 10 are disposed so as to face the polygonal surfaces of the teeth 2.
