A liquid atomization device (1) provided with a suction inlet (2) and a spray outlet (3) is provided with: a water retention unit (11); a liquid atomization unit (17), disposed so as to be covered with a hollow shaped inner cylinder (5), for atomizing liquid in the liquid retention unit (11); and a plurality of water conveying ribs (21) going from the lower end of the inner cylinder (5) to the water retention unit (11). Air passing through the liquid atomization device (1) passes through the suction inlet (2), an inner cylinder airway (4) linked to the suction inlet (2) in the inner cylinder (5), the liquid atomization unit (17) provided in the inner cylinder airway (4), an air passing opening (8) linking the inner cylinder airway (4) to an outer cylinder airway (9) provided on the outer periphery of the inner cylinder airway (4), space between adjacent water conveying ribs (21), the outer cylinder airway (9), and the spray outlet (3) linked to the outer cylinder airway (9), in this order. From the top in the vertical direction are disposed the suction inlet (2), the liquid atomization unit (17), the air passing opening (8), and the water conveying ribs (21), in this order.
