The present invention generates liquid droplet particles with nanometer particle sizes more stably. A liquid atomization system (1) is provided with: a SAW device 5; and a porous metal sheet 6. The SAW device (5) includes a piezoelectric substrate (2) and an IDT electrode (3). The piezoelectric substrate (2) has a front surface (21) and a back surface (22). The IDT electrode (3) is provided on the front surface (21) of the piezoelectric substrate (2). The IDT electrode (3) generates surface acoustic waves on the piezoelectric substrate (2). The porous metal sheet 6 is disposed side by side with the IDT electrode (3) in the propagation direction (D4) of the surface acoustic waves. The porous metal sheet 6 is disposed on the front surface (21) of the piezoelectric substrate (2). The liquid atomization system (1) atomizes a target liquid (100) positioned on the front surface (21) of the piezoelectric substrate (2) by means of the surface acoustic waves. In the target liquid (100), at least the thickness of a part to be atomized is controlled by the porous metal sheet (6).
