Implemented is a liquid chromatography device capable of removing air bubbles in the preparatory process during device power-up without requiring complicated steps. The liquid chromatography device comprises a delivery pump 1 for delivering a solvent, an injector 53 for injecting a sample to the solvent delivered from the delivery pump 1, a separation column 54 which is supplied with the solvent and the sample from the injector 53 to separate the sample into individual components, a detector 55 for detecting the components supplied from the separation column 54, a pressure sensor 51 for determining a pressure within a solvent flow path in the delivery pump 1, and a controller 50 for controlling the operation of the delivery pump 1. The controller 50 controls a purge operation which is an operation carried out by the delivery pump 1 to remove air bubbles in the solvent flow path, determines whether or not the level of pressure variation in the solvent flow path during the purge operation, as determined with the pressure sensor 51, is equal to or greater than a defined level of variation, and ends the air bubble removal operation in response to the level being equal to or greater than the defined level of variation.
