Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a highly reliable liquid crystal alignment film which is suppressed in the occurrence of an afterimage, and is capable of minimizing bright defect even if a physical friction such as rubbing by a spacer has occurred; a liquid crystal aligning agent which enables the achievement of this liquid crystal alignment film; and a liquid crystal display element which is provided with this liquid crystal alignment film. A diamine which has a structure represented by formula (1); a polymer which is obtained from this diamine; and a liquid crystal aligning agent which contains this polymer. In the formula, A represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group having 1-3 carbon atoms, a benzyl group, a p-methoxybenzyl group, an alkoxy group having 1-3 carbon atoms, an acetyl group, a benzoyl group, a t-butyl oxycarbonyl group, a 9-fluorenyl methoxycarbonyl group or a R1R2R3Si group; and each of R1, R2 and R3 independently represents an alkyl group having 1-3 carbon atoms or a phenyl group.
