Abstract:

A liquid crystal display device (10) is provided with the following: a flexible TFT film substrate (33); a flexible COM film substrate (30) that is disposed so as to oppose the TFT film substrate (33); a liquid crystal layer (32) that is sandwiched between the TFT film substrate (33) and the COM film substrate (30) and that is made of a polymer dispersed liquid crystal (PDLC) or a polymer network liquid crystal (PNLC); switching elements (17) provided on the TFT film substrate (33); a reflective film (35) provided on the switching elements (17); pixel electrodes (39) that are provided on the reflective film (35) and that are electrically connected to the drain electrodes of the switching elements (17); and a common electrode (31) provided on the COM film substrate (30).
