Abstract:

When an interlace video signal is inputted, an I/P conversion unit converts it into a progressive video signal by one of the I/P conversion methods. Furthermore, an emphasis conversion unit subjects the progressive video signal to an emphasis conversion. Here, a control CPU varies/controls the emphasis conversion degree of the emphasis conversion unit according to which of the conversion methods is used for conversion. Thus, it is possible to emphasis-convert the video data supplied to the liquid crystal display panel with the degree in accordance with the conversion method. As a result, it is possible to realize a liquid crystal display device capable of realizing both of the improvement of response speed of the liquid crystal display device and improvement of the quality of the image displayed on the liquid crystal display device.
