Title:
LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE FOR STEREOSCOPIC DISPLAY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/086495
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a liquid crystal display device for stereoscopic display, with which it is possible to make an observer aware of a stereoscopic image with distinct edges by alleviating the crosstalk phenomenon. A liquid crystal display device for stereoscopic display (100) alternately displays a right-eye image and a left-eye image on a liquid crystal panel (1) in two sub-frames at a time. The liquid crystal display device comprises: an image comparison unit (9) which extracts pixels in the right-eye image and the left-eye image which have a tone difference which is greater than or equal to a prescribed threshold value; and an image conversion unit (11) which, with the pixels extracted with the image comparison unit (9), in the two sub-frames which display the image, from the right-eye image and the left-eye image, which has the higher tone of the extracted pixels, converts the tone of the pixels in preceding sub-frames to a value higher than the raw tone, and converts the tone of the pixels in subsequent sub-frames to a value lower than the raw tone.
