Abstract:

Provided is a liquid crystal display device of a high image quality, which is prevented from the occurrence of a leakage current between pixel electrodes. The liquid crystal display device includes a plurality of pixels (10) having a first pixel (10a) and a second pixel (10b) adjoining along a first direction. The liquid crystal display device comprises a first substrate (60) having a first electrode (20a) for the first pixel (10a) and a second electrode (20b) for the second pixel (10b), a second substrate (70) arranged to face the first substrate (60), and a liquid crystal layer (80) arranged between the two substrates (60 and 70). The first electrode (20a) has a plurality of first branches (30a) extending toward the second pixel (10b). The second electrode (20b) has a plurality of second branches (30b) extending toward the first pixel (10a) side. As seen along the first direction, at least the portions of the end portions of the first branches (30a) face the gaps sandwiched between the two end portions of the second branches (30b).
