Abstract:
This liquid crystal display device comprises: a backlight (3) that emits light; and a liquid crystal panel (2) that is arranged so as to receive light from the backlight (3) and includes a color filter provided with a red filter, a green filter, and a blue filter. The backlight (3) is configured so that the spectral luminance thereof has a red peak, a green peak, and a blue peak. When information relating to brightness in the XYZ color system serves as the Y value, the Y value of white display using the red filter, the green filter, and the blue filter is at least 33. The liquid crystal panel (2) makes it possible to perform transparent display using light from the backlight (3) and reflective display using light from external light reflected by the backlight (3).
