A liquid crystal display having high display quality by improving flatness of liquid crystal cell gaps in a frame region of a peripheral portion of a liquid crystal display element suitable for a narrow frame. The display comprises a pair of liquid crystal display element substrates (311, 312) so disposed by seal members (44) as to oppose each other through a liquid crystal, and a plurality of liquid crystal driving devices (74, 77) connected to wirings on each liquid crystal display element substrate. Each of the substrates includes a plurality of display electrodes (46-n) wired in parallel, a plurality of parallel terminal electrodes (41-n), a plurality of slanting line wiring electrodes (45-n) parallel to one another, and a plurality of dummy electrodes (43) substantially parallel to the terminal electrodes, and each wiring electrode is formed so that variance of the wiring resistance between the center portion and the end portions of each liquid crystal driving circuit and variance of an area occupying ratio per unit area of the wiring disposed below the seal member are smaller than predetermined allowance values, respectively.
