Abstract:
An interlayer insulating film formed between transparent electrodes of different layers has a structure including at least one of a part of a gate insulating layer, a part of a surface passivation film of a thin film transistor, and a coating insulating film or a multilayer structure including them. A first insulating film is formed on the lower transparent electrode and in the area thereof where the upper transparent electrode is present. Further a second insulating film which is the same as the first insulating film is selectively formed on the lower transparent electrode in the area where the upper electrode is not present. Thus, a liquid crystal display in which the write time of liquid crystal is reduced, and the drive voltage of the liquid crystal is also reduced is provided.
