A liquid jetting device (10) provided in a liquid jetting system comprises a chamber (10-3) to which a first liquid is introduced, a piezoelectric/electrostriction element (11), and a vibrating chamber (12) for holding the piezoelectric/electrostriction element (11). The piezoelectric/electrostriction element comprises an activity unit that is provided with a plurality of electrode layers and vibrates, and non-activity units that is not provided with electrode layers and does not vibrate. The activity unit is provided only at the almost center in the Y-axis direction of the piezoelectric/electrostriction element, with non-activity units provided at the opposite ends in the Y-axis direction. The vibrating chamber holds the piezoelectric/electrostriction element at the non-activity units at the opposite ends in the Y-direction of the piezoelectric/electrostriction element. Vibration caused by the deformation of the activity unit of the piezoelectric/electrostriction element is transmitted to a first liquid jetted from a liquid jetting hole (10-3a) via a second liquid in the vibrating chamber.
