Abstract:
A liquid-seal vibration isolating device, comprising a first auxiliary liquid chamber (32) connected to a main liquid chamber (30) through a first orifice (22) and having a part of a chamber wall formed of a diaphragm (16) and a second auxiliary liquid chamber (34) connected to the main liquid chamber (30) through a second orifice (28) to efficiently absorb shake vibration and idle vibration in different frequency ranges by their corresponding orifices, wherein a part of the chamber wall of the second auxiliary liquid chamber is formed of a piston-like member (36) and a cylinder-like member (23) displaceable relative to each other in such a direction as to vary the volume of the second auxiliary liquid chamber according to the elastic deformation of the vibration isolating base body (14), MR fluid (38) having a viscosity varying according to the intensity of a magnetic field is sealingly held between the piston-like member (36) and the cylinder-like member (23), and an electromagnet (44) capable of controlling the intensity of the magnetic field is installed in the piston-like member (36).
