Abstract:
Disclosed are: a liquid-uncontacting all-solid-state protein photoelectric conversion element which can work even when a liquid such as water is not present in the interior or exterior of the element; and a process for producing the element. The liquid-uncontacting all-solid-state protein photoelectric conversion element has such a structure that a solid protein layer (13) comprising an electron transport protein is intercalated between an electrode (11) and an electrode (12). The solid protein layer (13) is immobilized on both the electrode (11) and the electrode (12). The solid protein layer (13) contains no liquid such as water. The solid protein layer (13) is composed of a monomolecular film or a multi-molecular film of the electron transfer protein.
