Abstract:

Provided is an integral sintered body-type lithium ion secondary battery capable of improving yield and long-term performance. This lithium ion secondary battery comprises: (a) a unit cell including a positive electrode layer composed of a lithium composite oxide sintered body, a negative electrode layer composed of a titanium-containing sintered body, a ceramic separator interposed between the positive electrode layer and the negative electrode layer, and an electrolyte with which at least the ceramic separator is impregnated; (b) a current collector layer arranged on both sides of the unit cell or a negative electrode layer side surface; and (c) an exterior body having a closed space in which the unit cell is housed. The positive electrode layer, the ceramic separator, the negative electrode layer, and the current collector layer form, as a whole, an integral sintered body, and therefore the positive electrode layer, the ceramic separator, the negative electrode layer, and the current collector layer are bonded to each other. When the cross section of the interface between the current collector layer and the negative electrode layer is observed, the percentage of a region, where the current collector layer and the negative electrode layer are in direct contact, is 45-90% at the interface.
