Abstract:
A lithium primary battery according to the present invention is provided with: an electrode body which is obtained by winding a positive electrode and a negative electrode, with a separator being interposed therebetween, in a spiral form; a negative electrode lead which is electrically connected to the negative electrode, while covering a part of the negative electrode; and a protective tape which is wider than the negative electrode lead and covers a part of the negative electrode lead. The outermost periphery of the electrode body is composed of the positive electrode; and the negative electrode is wound more than twice in the electrode body. The negative electrode lead is not arranged at the innermost periphery of the negative electrode and the outermost periphery of the negative electrode; and with respect to a cross-section that is perpendicular to the central axis of the electrode body, if the line connecting the central axis and the center X of the protective tape is taken as straight line A, the line passing through one end of the protective tape and being parallel to the straight line A is taken as straight line B, and the line passing through the other end of the protective tape and being parallel to the straight line A is taken as straight line C, the outer peripheral end of the positive electrode is positioned with a region that is sandwiched between the straight line B and the straight line C. The design energy density is 850 Wh/L or more.
