Abstract:
A lithium secondary battery pack comprises: a module (1) equipped with a lithium secondary battery (1a); and a protection circuit (3) including FETs (4a, 4b) for controlling the charging/discharging current of the lithium secondary battery. In the lithium secondary battery pack, a protection element portion including the FETs (4a, 4b) and the like is provided in a charging/discharging path. The protection element portion may include a PTC element (2). A negative electrode contains a Si-series active material as a negative active material. A single lithium secondary battery or lithium secondary batteries connected in parallel constitute a unit cell, and a single unit cell or a plurality of unit cells connected in series constitute a minimum unit series portion (B1, B2). The module is constituted by a single minimum unit series portion or a plurality of minimum unit series portions connected in parallel. When a protection element portion impedance (PR) (Ω) is defined as the product between the sum of the impedances of the respective protection elements and the number of the minimum unit series portions and the capacitance of the minimum unit series portion is denoted by Q, a protection element impedance/capacitance index represented by the ratio PR/Q is 0.03 or less. Rapid charging characteristics are improved.
